He announced his split with model girlfriend Karrueche, citing his 'friendship' with Rihanna as a reason behind the break up.
But Chris Brown apparently spent the day with the model on Monday, with onlookers suggesting that the pair went to a studio in Burbank together.
The 23-year-old is reported to have left his house with Brown but in separate cars. They are then reported to have stopped at a gas station together where Brown's bodyguard handed over cash for Tran's gas.
The bodyguard then accompanied Brown in the passenger seat of his black sports car.
Brown, who spent time with Rihanna at a Beverly Hills party over the weekend, released a statement confirming the split at the beginning of this month.
He said: 'I have decided to be single to focus on my career. I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna.
'I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives.'
However, he has released a new video where he apparently describes his mixed feelings about loving two women at the same time, which has been widely interpreted as a reference to his former love.
Monday's sighting is not the first time speculation has been rife about a reconciliatory between the pair.
Karrueche was pictured leaving Brown's Hollywood home one morning wearing the same clothes from the night before, a few days after the split was announced.
Rihanna recently admitted to Oprah Winfrey that she still considers Chris to be the 'love of her life.' In an interview which aired in August, the 24-year-old singer admitted that since the restraining order was dropped against Brown in February 2011, the pair have been working on their friendship.
She also admitted that her feelings are conflicting, saying: 'It's awkward because I still love him.'
