Gospel Singer, Dekunle Fuji becomes Nurse in the U.S

Dekunle Fuji (real name: Adekunle Oloyede Michael Olalekan), who was popular in the gospel music industry in Nigeria some years ago, has now become a certified nurse in the United States of America.

The singer, after having an unimpressive music career in Nigeria, turned to the nursing profession to earn an added means of livelihood for himself.

The former Storm Records artiste reportedly flew to America in 2011 for a show, but stayed back to pursue a career in nursing. He was reportedly certified in New Jersey some months ago.

Dekunle Fuji was popular with his hit song, 'Mo Like Jesu Gan'. He has performed at the Xperience gospel concert organised every December in Nigeria.

The Osun State-born musician who is a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Lagos had launched himself into a new kind of hiphop infused fuji with a Christian message gaining popularity among both fuji and hihop fans at the same time.

Dekunle’s new vocation is coming on the heels of recent trail of Nigerian celebs that have down-played their celebrity statuses and adopting a more regular profession.

Former beauty queen and actress, Regina Askia- Williams had long become a qualified nurse in New York since marrying her American husband.

Former, 419 Squad member, MP also dropped music to train as a doctor in UK and has since moved to the US where he now resides and practice.
