Destiny's child arrived over the weekend, and we've got new details about Beyonce and Jay-Z's newborn daughter Blue Ivy.
The 30-year-old Dreamgirls stunner -- checked in under the name “Ingrid Jackson” -- delivered the child via Cesarean section Saturday evening at Manhattan's Lenox Hill Hospital, where they paid $1.3 million for use of the facility's fourth floor.
Speaking of four, the number figures in of major importance to the uber-superstitious 16-time Grammy Award winner and 42-year-old husband, as "Ivy" was inspired by the Roman numeral IV, corresponding to the letter four. (Beyonce was born on September 4, Jay-Z on December 4 and they wed on April 4, 2008.)
And as for Blue -- Jay-Z's favorite color -- the music-makers foreshadowed the baby’s naming, reportedly giving all their friends and family blue presents for the holidays.
Of course, Blue Ivy's birth jump-started an avalanche of celebrity tweets well-wishing the proud parents.
Among them ...
Rihanna: “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.”
Sean "Diddy" Combs: "Congrats to Jay and B! And many more!"
Gwyneth Paltrow: “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already ... It’s Blue Ivy Carter!”
Russell Simmons: "Congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z."
Beyonce’s sister Solange: “The most beautiful girl in the world."
