Latina superstar Jenni Rivera's remains identified after plane crash

Four days after the private plane carrying Jenni Rivera and six others crashed in Northern Mexico, the remains of the bodies have been positively identified.

The Forensic Medical Service of Monterrey, Mexico has confirmed that remains of one of the bodies found on the site of the fatal crash belonged to the Regional Mexican superstar. The singer's remains have been cremated and given to Rivera's brother, the corridos singer Lupillo Rivera, said Jorge Domene, a spokesman for Nuevo Leon, on Thursday.

Lupillo Rivera will take his sister's remains to their mother in Long Beach, California, according to Mexico's Radio Formula.

On Wednesday, Lupillo and his brothers Juan and Gustavo took a helicopter to Rancho El Tejocote, the scene of the accident, in search of their sister's belongings, according to a report in the newspaper La Vanguardia. The brothers placed a wooden cross at the site where Rivera died.
The six other passengers of the plane, including the plane's pilots, and Rivera's stylist, publicist, make-up artist and attorney, have also been positively identified as those who died in the crash.
