It's the staple colour of any wardrobe and last night Hollywood's A-listers stuck firmly to the mantra black is best.
Angelina Jolie, Stacy Keibler, Amber Heard and Ashlee Simpson all stepped out in dark, dramatic gowns as they walked the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Angelina, who arrived with her partner Brad Pitt, sashayed up the carpet in a draped Grecian style dress in black lamé by Jenny Packham.

Stacy Keibler also stepped out in black but she had donned a lace, off-the shoulder creation by Marchesa, which boasted a fishtail train.
The former wrestler smiled as she made her way up the red carpet on the arm of George Clooney who looked dapper in midnight blue Giorgio Armani.
Emma Stone steered away from her usual green palette and also conformed to the colour of the evening stepped out in an angular Alexander McQueen gown.
